The sixth convocation of National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal was held on Saturday, 31st January 2009 at 14.00 hrs at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Dr.T.Ramasami, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India delivered the Convocation address.

The fifth convocation of National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal was held on Saturday, 1st December 2007 at 09.00 hrs at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Dr Anil Kakodkar-Chairman , Atomic Energy Commission & Secretary , Department of Atomic Energy , Government of India delivered the Convocation address. Prof Goverdhan Mehta, Chairman , Board of Governors presided over the function. 351 out of 721 students received the degree in person and the rest in absentia.

The fourth convocation of National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal was held on Saturday, 24th February 2007.Padma Bhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair , Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation delivered the Convocation address. Padmashree Prof. Goverdhan Mehta, Chairman Board of Governors, NITK Surathkal presided over the function.
